Privacy Policy

Extract Audio From Video+ ("we", "our", or "the app") extracts the audio track from videos you already have on your iPhone. This policy explains exactly what happens to your data when you use it.

The short version: the app has no backend server. Your videos and the audio files it creates are processed and stored entirely on your device, and they are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We do not require an account, we do not collect personal information, and we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.

1. Information processed on your device

Videos you import. When you pick a video from your Photo Library or the Files app, iOS gives the app a copy of that single file. The app stores it inside its own private container on your iPhone so you can trim and extract from it. It is never transmitted anywhere.

Audio you extract. Extraction is performed locally by Apple's AVFoundation framework. The resulting M4A, WAV, AAC, or .m4r file is written to the app's private container on your device and listed in your library until you delete it.

Your library and preferences. File names, durations, formats, thumbnails, your appearance setting, and your onboarding answers are stored locally using SwiftData and iOS UserDefaults. This data stays on your iPhone and is only included in an Apple device backup if you have backups enabled.

Free usage counter. The number of extracts you have used today is stored in your device's Keychain so the daily free allowance survives a reinstall. It is a count and a date — nothing more.

2. Information shared with third parties

The app makes network requests in only two situations, both related to purchases:

Apple. All payments, subscriptions, and the one-time Lifetime unlock are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple's handling of that data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to verify whether your Pro entitlement is active and to restore purchases across your devices. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device identifier (a random UUID stored in your Keychain — not your name, email, or Apple ID), your App Store purchase receipt, and basic technical information such as your app version, device model, and country. It does not receive your videos, your audio files, or any file names. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

That is the complete list. There is no other service, server, or partner involved.

3. What we do not do

4. Photo library and Files access

The app uses Apple's system photo picker, which means you choose which specific videos to hand over. The app cannot browse, read, or index the rest of your photo library, and it never writes to your photo library. Access is requested only when you tap Import, with the explanation: "Import videos from your photo library to extract their audio." You can review or revoke this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

Importing from the Files app uses Apple's document picker, which grants access to only the file you select.

The app does not use the microphone or the camera, and requests no such permission.

5. Data retention and deletion

Because your data never reaches us, there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. Videos and extracted audio remain in the app until you remove them from your library. Deleting the app removes all of its local files and stored preferences from your device.

The anonymous purchase identifier held by RevenueCat can be deleted on request — email us and we will submit the deletion.

6. Children's privacy

The app is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13, and contains no advertising, no user-generated content, and no way to communicate with other users.

7. Your rights

Under regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA you have rights to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. Since the app collects no personal data and stores everything locally, you can exercise these rights directly: your data is already in your hands, and uninstalling the app erases it. For anything related to your purchase record, contact us or manage it through your Apple ID.

8. International users

Your media never crosses a border, because it never leaves your device. The limited purchase-verification data described in section 2 is processed by Apple and RevenueCat on infrastructure that may be located in the United States and other countries.

9. Changes to this policy

If the app gains a feature that changes how data is handled, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
